Family Law Act 1975
On 17 July 2017, the Attorney General, Senator the Hon George Brandis QC, released draft legislation which will amend the Family Law Act 1975 to provide for an automatic ban on victims of family violence being personally cross-examined by their alleged perpetrators. A public consultation paper was released and FLPA were invited to make submissions.
Attached is a link to the Family Law Section website which provides a summary of the key points identified by the FLS who prepared the Law Council’s response to the consultation paper and draft bill. There is also a link to view the full submission.

2017 FLPA Conference
